Theme: LEAD SOMEONE TO JESUS TODAY

One of the qualities we see in St Andrew is that of bringing or leading people to Jesus. It could be said he led everyone he encountered to Jesus. The first person he brought to Jesus was his brother, Peter (Jn 1:40–42). The second were the gentiles who didn’t know Jesus but wanted to see him (Jn 12:22). The third was the lad who had the loaves and fish which Jesus multiplied to feed the hungry crowd (Jn 6:8). Recall that when Jesus called him to be his apostle, he gave him the mission of being a fisher of men; Andrew remained true to that mission.

Just like St Andrew, Jesus has called each of us to lead men and women of our time to him, he has charged us to lead people out of darkness into the light that liberates and saves. It would, therefore, be contradictory if we are leading people away from Christ by our lives and actions instead of leading them to Him. Our colleagues and friends will know Jesus and follow Him if we tell them of Him and show Him to them through our actions. As we set out for the business of this day, let’s make it our target to lead someone to Jesus, to tell someone of Jesus, and to bring Jesus to someone by the way we interact with him/her.

May your Thursday be blessed and fruitful. Amen
