(Matthew 13:31–35)

From seed to tree, the mustard became a huge surprise to the world. The small leaven turned the little meal to something great. This is how God continues to teach us the importance of valuing those things the world sees as little.

The path to the kingdom of God entails that we take the little things we see in our daily events seriously. Let us not take anybody for granted based on what He is today. Let’s not underrate any person because of his present condition. Even that worst sinner of lowest spiritual pedigree can become great as soon as he begins to water the seed of faith in him.

Let us not take for granted the little blessings of the Lord in our lives. Our little inputs mean a lot in the sight of God once we do them in sincerity, honesty and consistency. They can be important steppingstones to greatness.

Let’s not equally lose the opportunity of showing the little concerns and love we ought to show to people around us. Also, let’s try not to allow the little sins, errors and mistakes of our life graduate to unsurmountable bad habits that may make us lose heaven and the plans of God for us.

We are encouraged to continue doing those little things that seem not to matter today, they will add up to great heavenly attractants that will catapult us to our success and greatness.

Let us nurture the little desire to do good in us. Let’s keep making our efforts one day at a time, minimizing our vices while maximizing our virtues. May God help us by His grace.

LET US PRAY

Dear Lord, we need Your grace to do the little we can do one day at a time. Save us from unnecessary pressure from the world. Open our eyes to the miracle that subsists in the little things. May we acknowledge the wonders the world fails to see. With the eyes of faith, may our little faith in you bring us to everlasting life and shelter us under the heavenly trees of eternal joy with You through Christ our Lord. Amen

Sts Joachim and Anne, Pray for us.

God bless your Monday (17th Week, Ordinary Time)
