(Matthew 14:22–36)

In the Gospel of today, Jesus went into the hills alone to pray. He had already sent His disciples to the other side in a boat having dismissed the crowd.

Their boat was beaten by waves for the wind was against them. Jesus was seen walking on the sea towards them. The terrified disciples thought He was a ghost. But Jesus assures them that He was the One. Peter challenged Jesus to make Him walk on the sea if it was Him. Jesus invited him to come on and He did till he started going down in fear. He cried out: “Lord save me”. Jesus reached out and caught him. They got into the boat and the wind ceased.

This is a good news. We’ve got to thank God who comes to save us. He is ready to walk on the waters of your situation to save you. Take courage! He says: “It is I, be not afraid”

How strong is the wind on you? How is it blowing in your family? What has the wind of poverty, hunger, non-payment of salaries, accusations, intimidations and even sickness done to you? Jesus is telling you today that the wind will cease.

Walk in the spirit like Peter on the sea of your problems. Invite Jesus to save you when you seem to be going down. Take Jesus into that troubled boat of yours. Is the boat of your family peace being blown by the wind? Is the love in your marriage undergoing a storm? Is the boat of your business under the attack of the wind of backwardness? Is your relationship with God being confronted by the wind of sin?

The wind will cease. Just hold unto Jesus. There’s no situation too difficult for Him to handle. He will raise His hands to arrest the troubles in your life. He will calm the storm you’re facing. You will be healed of your diseases.

We pray God to command the wind of corruption to cease. May the wind of tears and sorrows cease. May the wind of wickedness cease. May the wind of backbiting cease. May the wind of bloodshed cease.

BENEDICTION

May God bless us and put a final stop to all our spiritual and physical storms through Christ our Lord. Amen

God bless your Tuesday (18th Week, Ordinary Time)
