Theme: DO NOT BE AFRAID

(John 14:27–31a)

In the face of the many life-threatening occurrences around us the word of God today tells us the need not to be troubled or live in fear. Jesus says that He will go away but He will come to us.

Jesus goes away from those who drive Him away. Jesus will be far removed from those who have cut off themselves from Him. But for you who have made the Lord your refuge and who believes in His Holy name, He will protect you. He will not let the arrows that fly by day nor the scourges that lay waste at night to destroy you.

Therefore, do not live your life based on fear of evil news. Bear in mind that the Lord comes for you everyday. Whatever He did not permit will never take place in your life. Be ever ready to meet God in holiness, in prayers, in just living, in charity. Be at peace with God, that’s why He greets you: ‘Peace be with You’. Once you are at peace with God, you’ve got nothing to fear. If you have God on your side, you’re more than the majority.

Take courage child of God! Do not allow the fear of the passing glories of this world to take away your joy of eternity in Christ. The Lord comes to you in love. Open your heart and receive Him. He will drive away all that you fear. Your fears will melt when they encounter Christ. May the ruler of this world not intimidate or put fear into you that will make you lose your awareness of the hand of God operating with power in your life. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let them be afraid. That’s the message of God for you today.

LET US PRAY

Thank You Jesus for Your words of peace even as we face fearful news and experiences. May Your abiding presence encourage us to continue living for You all the days of our lives. Destroy all the forces terrifying us and fortify us with the serenity the world cannot give through Christ our Lord. Amen.

God bless your Tuesday (Easter, Week 5)
